Carpinteria Campgrounds Getting a Trim

Santa Barbara- Work has begun to remove about 50 large Eucalyptus trees at a popular camp site in Carpinteria. The State Park says the tree removal at Santa Rosa and San Miguel Campgrounds is a public safety project. The older Eucalyptus trees, and their low lying branches, are becoming a danger to campers, so parts of the park are closed until the work is complete. The State Park will be planting Sycamore Trees in their place, and making road improvements. The campgrounds are expected to re-open before Thanksgiving. KEY News Reporter Shirin Rajaee has the full report.
