Santa Barbara County Coroner has identified the women killed as 54-year-old Pamela C. Price of Montecito. Santa Barbara Police and Sheriff's deputies responded to the railroad crossing at Butterfly Lane in Montecito where a northbound Amtrak train hit and killed a woman just after 10:30 Wednesday morning. Train service was shutdown during the investigation. The train's conductor told authorities that it appeared the woman intentionally stepped in front of the train. There were no other known witnesses. A dog found in the area is believed to have been with the woman, however investigators say it did not have tags. Santa Barbara Animal Control came to the scene and took the dog, an older black Labrador retriever. This fatality happened close to where a similar incident happened on July 26th, 2012.
