SANTA BARBARA -- From fires to Great White sharks, KEY News has been busy making sure the Tri-Counties are kept up to speed with the latest news. As we wrap up 2012, we've broken down the top 10 most viewed stories on 10. On November 7, <a href="" target="_blank">Paul Robinette</a>, 43, stood on South Jameson Lane with two knives pressed against his neck. After four hours, Sheriff's deputies launched flash bombs and shot him with foam rounds. He dropped his knives and was taken away by ambulance. 9. <a href="" target="_blank">Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer Terrell Horne</a> was killed on December 2, when his boat was intentionally rammed by alleged drug smugglers in a panga boat. He hit his head on a propeller and was killed. 8. On November 9, the body of <a href="" target="_blank">David Propp</a>, a 21-year-old UCSB student was found on an Isla Vista beach. The cause of death was accidental. 7. After months of sightings, two local fishermen captured two <a href="" target="_blank">Great White sharks on camera</a> near Santa Cruz Island on December 16. 6. A vehicle with a faulty <a href="" target="_blank">catalytic converter sparked two fires</a> on June 28. The flames burned near a gas station in Goleta and another fire broke out in Buellton. 5. <a href="" target="_blank">A flock of birds caused damage to Air Force Two</a> while landing at the Santa Barbara Airport and forced Vice President Joe Biden to take another plane on April 20. 4. Firefighters rushed to the hills of Montecito to combat the <a href="" target="_blank">Cold Fire</a> on November 6. The flames only spread about three acres and no homes were damaged. 3. <a href="" target="_blank">A decomposed body was found</a> on May 10 near UCSB's Santa Catalina twin tower dorms, roughly 200 yards from the student bike racks. The body still has not been identified but officials say it is not a student. 2. <a href="" target="_blank">A big rig crash in Buellton</a> killed the driver and sent a BMW with a woman and her two children teetering between Highway 101 and the creek below. A Seabee's construction battalion helped prevent the car from going over by using a forklift. 1. It was the fire that threatened 100 homes in the Painted Cave area of Highway 154. <a href="" target="_blank">The Lookout Fire</a> burned 44 acres. Air tankers, helicopters and hundreds of firefighters prevented the blaze from spreading to neighboring buildings.
