Shannen Doherty revealed Monday that her breast cancer has spread and that she's had a single mastectomy. The former "90210" star is far from the only celebrity who's undergone such a procedure.
Angelina Jolie -- The Oscar-winner revealed in May 14, 2013, op-ed piece in the New York Times that she had undergone a preventive double mastectomy after learning she carries a mutant form of a gene that predisposes her for breast and ovarian cancer.
Christina Applegate -- She had a double mastectomy in 2008 after being diagnosed with cancer. Although the cancer was in only one breast, she carried the gene that puts her at higher risk of relapse and ovarian cancer.
Debbie Wasserman Schultz -- In 2009, the congresswoman from Florida revealed she had battled breast cancer and undergone seven surgeries, including a double mastectomy.
Giuliana Rancic -- The "E! News" host underwent a double mastectomy in the midst of her breast cancer battle in 2011.
Hoda Kotb -- In March 2007, the co-host of the fourth hour of the "Today" show underwent a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery for breast cancer.
Judy Blume -- The beloved young adult author revealed in September 2012 that she underwent a mastectomy after being diagnosed with breast cancer that summer.
Kathy Bates -- Doctors discovered a lump in one of Bates'breasts in the summer of 2012. "After much consideration," the actress opted for a double mastectomy. She beat ovarian cancer in 2003.
Montel Williams -- He recently revealed he had an unnecessary double mastectomy at age 19 after doctors misdiagnosed a torn pectoralis muscle as male breast cancer.
Nancy Reagan -- In October 1987, the former first lady was diagnosed with breast cancer and chose to undergo a mastectomy rather than a lumpectomy.
Olivia Newton-John -- The "Grease" star underwent a mastectomy after being diagnosed with breast cancer at age 44 in 1992.
Sharon Osbourne -- Ozzy's wife had a preventative double mastectomy in 2012 after discovering she had the breast cancer gene.
Wanda Sykes -- In a 2011 interview with Ellen DeGeneres, the actress and comedian revealed she had undergone a double mastectomy after doctors found the early stages of breast cancer.
