Jonathan T. Blunk, 26 -- Serving five years in the U.S. Navy, he had planned to fly to Reno, Nev., the next day to see his wife, Chantel, and two children.
Alexander J. Boik, 18 (standing) -- A Facebook page was created in memory of Boik, a Gateway High School student who was also an independent distributor for Organo Gold, a coffee company.
Air Force Staff Sgt. Jesse E. Childress, 29 -- An Air Force reservist, Childress was a cybersystems operator on active duty with the 310th Force Support Squadron at Buckley Air Force Base in Colorado.
Gordon W. Cowden, 51 -- The oldest of the shooting victims, he took his two teenage children to the theater that night. Both of them survived.
Jessica Ghawi, 24 -- The aspiring sports reporter Ghawi narrowly avoided a shooting in Toronto just last month. A Texas native, she had moved to Denver to try to break into the television market there.
Petty Officer 3rd Class John Thomas Larimer, 27 -- Like his father and grandfather, Larimer chose to join the U.S. Navy and was serving at his first post at the time of his death.
Matthew R. McQuinn, 27 -- McQuinn died trying to protect his girlfriend, Samantha Yowler, during the shooting. Yowler and her brother, Nick, also trying to shield his sister from the bullets, both survived.
Micayla C. Medek, 23 -- Known to her friends as Cayla, Medek was "very spiritual and close to God," cousin Anita Busch told CNN. She was a student at the Community College of Aurora.
Veronica Moser-Sullivan, 6 -- The youngest of the shooting victims, Veronica was described as a vibrant little girl who had just learned to swim. Her 25-year-old mother was critically injured, but survived.
Alex M. Sullivan, 27 -- Alex "Sully" Sullivan went to the movie to celebrate his birthday, two days before the first anniversary of his marriage to his wife, Cassie.
Alexander C. Teves, 24 -- He had recently graduated from the University of Denver with a master's degree in counseling psychology and died protecting his girlfriend, Amanda Lindgren.
Rebecca Ann Wingo, 32 -- A Texas native who lived in Aurora with her two young girls, Wingo joined the Air Force after high school, became fluent in Mandarin and served as a translator.
Junior right fielder Nick Torres doubled to the gap in left-center field, scoring sophomore second baseman Mark Mathias from first base in the 13th inning, as No. 3 Cal Poly earned a 4-3 walk-off victory over No. 19 Cal State Fullerton before 2,831 Saturday night in Baggett Stadium.
