A man made an interesting discovery in the walls of the home he was remodeling.

David Gonzalez of Elbow Lake, Minnesota, bought an abandoned house for about $10,000, planning to remodel it. While tearing down one of the walls in the house, Gonzalez found a copy of an extremely rare comic book amid the newspapers used as insulation. A copy of 1938's Action Comics #1 - best known as the first appearance of Superman - was tucked in the wall.

Not knowing how much it was worth, Gonzalez decided to auction it off and the current bid is over $100,000, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

In an unfortunate turn, when Gonzalez showed his find to his family, there was an argument over the comic and it was accidentally torn. This mistake is thought to cost Gonzalez about $75,000, according to the co-owner of the auction house selling the book. Still, collectors are amazed by the find.
