Pat Robertson: Low-carb diets violate God's principles

Considering a low-carb diet? You may want to check with your pastor or priest, according to Pat Robertson.
The 83-year-old televangelist, who's railed against everything from gay marriage to Ivy League schools, said during Monday's episode of "The 700 Club" that low-carb diets cause "the clinkers" and violate God's principles.
Robertson spoke following a story about Jimmy Moore, a formerly obese man who lost 180 pounds in one year by cutting out carbohydrates like bread and loading up on proteins and fats, like eggs, cheese, butter, coconut oil and bacon, according to The Huffington Post.
"You get all kinds of problems where you ache like crazy," Robertson said of the diet. "That's the truth of it, if you don't have some carbs in there. The carbs are the fire that burns everything."
"Sooner or later, it violates the principles that God set down."
