Most Guinness world records are fairly standard, but others are nothing short of wacky. In honor of the 60th anniversary of the Aug. 27, 1955, publication of the very first "Guinness Book of Records," click on to see our choices for some of the weirdest Guinness records ever recorded.
On Aug. 16, 2015, 418 people climbed into bed at the Sheraton Langfang Chaobai River Hotel in Hebei, China, to set the Guinness World Record for the most people having breakfast in bed. The stunt broke the previous record of 388 set in November 2014, also in China.
Puskar Nepal holds the record for most kicks to the head in one minute (self), kicking himself in the head 134 times at Kantipur City College in Kathmandu, Nepal, on Dec. 19, 2014.
The largest rubber band ball weighs 9,032 pounds and was made by Joel Waul. It was measured in Lauderhill, Florida, on Nov. 13, 2008. The ball consists of 700,000 rubber bands and is 6-feet, 7-inches tall and 25 feet, 4 inches in diameter.
Garry Turner of the United Kingdom the Guinness World Record-holder for stretchiest skin. He is able to stretch the skin of his stomach to a distended length of 6.25 inches due to a rare medical condition called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, a disorder of the connective tissues affecting the skin, ligaments and internal organs.
Happie the goat of Fort Myers, Florida, holds the record for farthest distance skateboarding by a goat by traveling 118 feet over 25 seconds on March 4, 2012.
Cosmetic doctor Wei Shengchu of China has broken his own record of most needles inserted into the head several times, with the most recent coming on June 11, 2013, when he inserted 2,188 acupuncture needles into his head in Istanbul, Turkey.
Germany's Tafzi Ahmed holds the record for most watermelons smashed with the head in one minute, breaking 43 at the Rose Festival event in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany, on May 27, 2011.
On March 6, 2014, 1,675 people broke the world record for most people wearing sunglasses in the dark at Gilda's LaughFest in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
