2 small quakes strike Ventura County

VENTURA, Calif. -

Two small earthquakes have struck within one minute of each other in Ventura County.

The US Geological Survey says a magnitude 3.5 earthquake hit at 2:05 a.m.

Tuesday about six miles northeast of downtown Ventura.

The quake occurred at a depth of 13.7 miles. One minute later, at 2:06 a.m., a magnitude 3.7 earthquake was reported about three miles northeast of Meiners Oaks and about 14 miles north of Ventura.

The USGS says the second quake occurred at a depth of 6.8 miles.

A sheriff's spokesman says dispatchers at the Ventura headquarters felt minor shaking. They received no calls of damage or injury.
