Local officials and citizens react to the unprecedented manhunt for Christopher Dorner

Law Enforcement throughout Southern California, including the tri-counties are on high alert. The former LAPD cop is accused of gunning down fellow officers and their families in "revenge killings"

Christopher Dorner allegedly killed three people, posted a six-page manifesto to Facebook threatening "unconventional and asymmetrical warfare to those in LAPD uniform." Dozens of police officers are named in this manifeto, including Lompoc Police Captain Don Deming, who worked alongside Dorner when they were both with the LAPD. Chief Larry Ralston says the protection of Captain Deming and his family is a top priority.

The killing spree began on Sunday with the murder of an Irvine couple. Twenty-eight year old Monica Quan, the daughter of Randy Quan, a retired LAPD officer and her fiance Keith Lawrence a standout basketball player at Moorpark Highschool and Moorpark College in Ventura County were killed in their car.

Santa Barbara Police Chief Cam Sanchez, who served 13 years with the Los Angeles Police Department,  says it's a tragic day for all in uniform. Sanchez says he knows half the officers on Dorners target list including Captain Randy Quan. He said losing a fellow officer leaves a "horrific, ugly, and sickening feeling."

Local law enforcement have been fully briefed and will remain on alert until the manhunt is over.

If you notice any suspicious activity,  do not hesitate to contact police.
