Fire destroys Port Hueneme condominium

Black smoke from a Port Hueneme condo fire could be seen for miles Monday afternoon. The fire started just before 1 p.m. in a garage on the 2600 block of Captains Avenue.

PORT HUENEME, Calif. -

Black smoke from a Port Hueneme condo fire could be seen for miles Monday afternoon.

The fire started just before 1 p.m. in a garage on the 2600 block of Captains Avenue.

Firefighters say one person was treated for smoke inhalation. Seven people called  the two-story end-unit home.  They are being helped by the Red Cross.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
