Former fire veteran honored for public information work

Charlie Johnson was honored today by the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors for his service in recent years to improve the way the public gets information in an emergency.

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -

Former Fire Captain Charlie Johnson has received an honor from the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors for his efforts while he was on duty, and now in retirement, to help inform the public during emergencies.

Johnson received a resolution at this morning's meeting.

In his retirement, in recent years, Johnson has worked with a group of information officers to make sure they are united when a major emergency hits.
