Body found in moving truck

ORCUTT, Calif. -

Santa Maria police said the victim has been identified as 28-year-old Anthony Ibarra of Santa Maria.

Three suspects are in custody Tuesday afternoon after Santa Barbara sheriff deputies found a moving truck with Ibarra’s body inside.

Ramon Maldonado, 37, Carmen Cardenas, 28 and Pedro Torres, 54, all Santa Maria residents, have been charged with conspiracy to commit murder.

Santa Maria police confirm with NewsChannel 3 that this moving truck is connected to the home where officers were investigating Monday night.

"We began an investigation yesterday about a possible assault with information that a possible homicide had occurred. We found evidence of a crime scene there. We have been there for yesterday and continued into today," said Santa Maria police Sgt. Mark Norling.

The truck was discovered in Orcutt on Los Padres and Lakeview roads late Tuesday morning. This is just over six miles away from the home on the 1100 block of West Donovan and Blosser roads in the city of Santa Maria.
