SANTA YNEZ, Calif. -

Actor and musician Jeff Bridges and his band, The Abiders, hit the stage to raise money for a local-non profit.

The band played two sold-out shows on Saturday night at Maverick Saloon in Santa Ynez.  Portions of the proceeds will go directly to The Unity Shoppe in Santa Barbara, which provides food and clothing to families in need.

After the holidays, donations drop off and that's the case right now at the Unity Shoppe. Some store shelves are bare, and supplies like break, milk, fruits, vegetables and cereal are very low.

Bridges has been a long-time supporter of The Unity Shoppe's mission and stepped in again to help the non-profit through this rough time of the year.  Last year, The Unity Shoppe helped about 22,000 people.
