SANTA MARIA, Calif. -

A major donation from Vandenberg Air Force Base is helping local students improve their reading skills.

Representatives from the base paid a visit to Fesler Junior High School to see students using computers and other technology the base donated to the school.

Last year the 30th Space Wing donated the gently used equipment including computers, flat screen monitors, printers and scanners.

Students are also using the new equipment for research during science class. Total estimated value of the donation items is $94,000.
