National Tsunami Preparedness Week March 23-29

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -

This Thursday marks the 50th anniversary of the largest recorded earthquake in U.S. history: the Great Alaska Earthquake and Tsunamis.

It's a reminder for us to make sure we are prepared in the event a tsunami threatens the California coast.

This week is the annual National Tsunami Preparedness Week and it's important to review evacuation routes near your home and work.

Also, make sure you have a plan in place in case a warning is issued.

There are many tools to help you better educate yourself and your loved ones on these dangerous waves.
