Paper Shredding Box
CARPINTERIA, Calif. -

Union Bank held another shred event. This time bank workers offered free shredding in the Carpinteria High School parking lot.

School doesn't start until next Monday, so there was plenty of room for cars full of paper. People brought boxes full of private papers such as bills and taxes.

They believe shredding will protect them from identity theft.

One women said she was thrilled to get rid of boxes full of personal papers that had filled up her spare bedroom.

The truck could hold ten tons of shredded paper.

Randy Weiss, with Union bank, said they would find out the total weight shredding on Thursday.
