VENTURA, Calif. -

Three people were injured when a car backed into a café late Wednesday morning in Ventura. It happened at the Cajun Kitchen on the corner of Main and Palm streets.

Ventura firefighters said a woman was backing out of a parking space, across the street, when she hit the gas instead of the brakes.

Capt. Doug Miser said two people had just gotten up to walk to the counter to pay when the car crashed through the window and into their table. Broken glass rained on the restaurant. Three people, including the driver, were treated for minor injuries.

Aside from the window the building did not suffer any other structural damage.
