A victim is recovering from their injuries after a car crash in Santa Maria Thursday night.

Multiple agencies responded to the crash at Fesler Street and Curryer Street shortly before 9pm. Police say they found the driver of one of the cars trapped inside their vehicle.  Crews had to use the "jaws of life" to extract the victim from their car.

The victim was transported to Marian Regional Medical Center.  The extent of their injuries is not known at this time. Other people involved in the crash suffered minor injuries.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
