SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. -

Some cities were lucky enough to get some rain Wednesday. But regardless water district managers say it is not enough to make much of a difference in your routine. The most important thing they stress is to still conserve water.

You can use your own judgment by looking at your lawn and plants to determine if watering is needed. If you do not want the hassle of trying to figure it out managers suggest installing a weather based irrigation controller.

The device will determine if there is enough moisture to not water for days or weeks. Voting is underway for a "People's Choice Award" for the annual Water Wise High School Video contest.

Anyone with a Facebook account can vote for their favorite videos by “liking” one or more videos on the Contest’s Facebook page, accessible through the www.WaterWiseSB.org home page before the April 18 deadline.

This Friday we hope you will join us for a NewsChannel 3 special report. 'Water woes' takes an in depth look at our dangerously dry conditions. The show will air Friday night at 7 here on NewsChannel 3.
