PASO ROBLES, Calif. -

A jar collecting donations for a Paso Robles girl battling Leukemia has been stolen. The girl's mother says she's heartbroken and shocked someone would do this.

Madelyn "Maddy" Gonzalez is only 6 years old and has Acute Lympocytic Leukemia, which affects the blood and bone marrow. Maddy's mother says someone walked into Bronco Burger on Golden Hill Road last week and took the jar stuffed with donation money for her daughter

The thief is described as an Hispanic girl about 17 years old, skinny, long hair and she was wearing glasses.

According to Maddy's mother, only about $30 was stolen, but she says Maddy looks forward to collecting the jars each week.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Paso Robles Police Department.
