101 Back Open After Motorcycle Crash, Two Taken to Hospital

GOLETA, Calif. -

Update: No semi truck was involved in this accident.

A motorcyclist hit an animal or rock going southbound on Highway 101 at Refugio Road. The motorcyclist was thrown off his bike into the center divide. His motorcycle was left in the middle of the highway.

An SUV ran over the motorcycle and the vehicle caught on flames. Both vehicles are totaled.

The motorcyclist and the driver of the SUV have been transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

A third vehicle was also present with a flat tire but was not involved in the accident.

One lane has been reopened.
