VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -

Early Tuesday morning, locals can view the final missile launch of 2013 at Vandenberg Air Force Base.

The operational test launch of an unarmed Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile is scheduled to take place between 1:39 and 7:39 a.m from Launch Facility - 04 on North Vandenberg.

30th Space Wing Vice Commander Col. Brent McArthur says so far this year they've had 11 successful launches.

"And 2014's schedule looks to be just as busy," McArthur says.  "Working with AFGSC, the 30th Space Wing stands ready to ensure a safe, secure, and effective ICBM test."
