Firefighters Contain Blaze on Oak Mountain

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. -

Santa Barbara County Fire crews are working to contain a small brush fire near Lompoc.

The fire started around 2 p.m. Monday on near San Miguelito Canyon Road in Santa Barbara County.

Vandenberg Air Force Base officials said the fire was contained by nightfall. Base officials also said the flames burned 1.5 acres on Oak Mountain, just south of Lompoc City.

Fire fighters on scene said there is a power line down in the area.

Officials said there was light wind blowing in the area. Vandenberg Air Force Base fire crew was on scene as well.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
