Groping Victim Speaks Out About Wanted Suspect
More victims have come forward in connection with a man suspected of groping joggers in Santa Maria.
As of Friday evening, Santa Maria Police say the suspect has not been caught.
"He came up, rode up so fast. Before I knew it he slapped me on the rear again," says a Santa Maria victim.
A Santa Maria woman, who asks us not to reveal her identity, says says she's one of nearly eight victims who has been sexually assaulted by the same groping suspect police have been searching for all week.
"He kind of jumped out at me and that's when I got a good look at his face for the first time," she says.
The woman says the groper targeted her three times, twice last week and again Thursday night at the corner of Stowell and Estrada.
"He jumped towards me and tried to scare me. He then rode away and started laughing," the victim explains.
It's a no laughing matter for Santa Maria Police. They say on Wednesday, the man exposed himself and tried to grab a woman jogging near the levee.
"I believe he is Hispanic, with a brown mustache, brown hair, he's wearing jeans, a dark blue hoody," says the victim.
Almost all of the time, the man is on a bike.
"I don't want to have to feel afraid walking in my own neighborhood," the victim says.
Santa Maria Police remind you to never walk or jog alone and always be aware of your surroundings.
