Higher fuel prices and traffic jams part of weekend getaways

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -

Presidents Day weekend getaways included some costly inconveniences.

Monday night traffic jams were caused by the high volume of Santa Barbara and Santa Ynez wine country visitors.

Drivers stopping to fill up their tanks said they also noticed higher gas prices.

Gas prices are not as high as they were last year, or the year before, but prices are climbing.

Oil analysts said winter storms are not to blame. They blame refineries starting to seasonal maintenance that proceeds a change to summertime fuels.
