SANTA MARIA, Calif. -

Verenisa Aviles was one of two women and 11 people arrested and charged in the alleged kidnapping, torture and murder of Anthony Ibarra in Santa Maria last year.

The alleged torture took place inside a home on West Donovan Road in Santa Maria over the course of a few days last March.

The body of 28 year old Anthony Ibarra was found in the back of a U-haul trailer truck found parked in an Orcutt neighborhood.

Verenisa Aviles has agreed to plead no contest to kidnapping and other special allegations in connection with the case.

She will be sentenced to 9 years and 8 months in state prison in May.

"She plead to Penal Code section 207, which is kidnapping, she admitted the special allegation for the purposes of a criminal street gang benefit", says prosecutor and Santa Barbara County Assistant District Attorney Ann Bramsen, "she also plead to false imprisonment and to committing force likely to cause great bodily injury."

The prosecution alleges the motive for the brutal Ibarra killing was unpaid drug debts.

Two other Ibarra co-defendants, Carmen Cardenas and Pedro Torres have already begun serving more than three year prison sentences for pleading no contest to accessory to murder after the fact.

Eight remaning Ibarra co-defendants are all charged with murder and set to go on trial in May

Asst. D.A. Bramsen says its possible there could be more plea deals taken in the run up to the trial.

"Its always possible in any case so we'll just have to see", Bramsen says, "it could be we do a jury trial with all eight, so anything is possible."

The Ibarra murder trial is due to begin on May 12.
