A novel art installation graces the mountains of Santa Barbara

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. -

Stephen Duneier, also known as the Yarnbomber is becoming known for covering giant objects with knitting.

The Friday before Memorial Day and again Friday June 6, the 70th anniversary of D-Day, Duneier covered a large boulder with an American flag and that's not all.

With some help from his friends Duneier covered more than a dozen boulders at a rock formation called Lizard's Mouth in Santa Barbara County.

Hikers didn't expect to see all the bright colors but they seemed to the enjoy the unusual view.

Some people compared it to the environmental artist Christo.

KEYT Videographer Paul Mihalec captured the artist fitting the yarn onto Boulders Friday.
