SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -

The local development company who debuted the touch screen kiosks at Santa Barbara's MTD Transit Center is working on taking the state-of-the-art product national.

A week ago, CHK America chose to showcase the Connectpoint, a new interactive transit kiosk, in it's hometown.

It was developed to engage bus passengers and make obtaining bus information much easier.

The company's president says their goal is to get these hubs installed across the United States and so far, he has 7 client meetings lined up over the next several months as a result of the kiosks' quick-growing success.

"It's very exciting," said CEO Rick Wood.  "I'm glad MTD agreed to partner with us.  I love doing stuff in our hometown and I want to thank MTD for letting us doing it here."

In addition to the kiosks providing transit information, the hub can also be customized to provide non-transit information such as weather, yelp reviews, and news headlines.
