Stabbing on San Pascual Street

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -

An investigation is underway after a teenager was stabbed along the 1800 block of San Pascual in Santa Barbara early Saturday morning.

Police say the 18-year-old victim was stabbed multiple times. He underwent surgery and was in intensive care. So far, no update on his condition.

Investigators set up a perimeter in the area. The fire department hosed off the sidewalk after the brawl.

It's unknown what led up to the fight and there are no suspects in custody.  The investigation is ongoing.

Saturday's incident comes one week after four people were stabbed on the 200 block of Cottage Grove near downtown Santa Barbara.  Five people are under arrest in that case and charged with attempted homicide.
