A mountain lion cub was captured by California Department of Fish and Wildlife in Buellton Friday.
Residents in the 100 block of Second Street were alerted by reverse 911 from the Santa Barbara County Sheriff Department of the animal on the loose.
Authorities said the cub weighed between 17-25 pounds and it is believed to be just a few months old.
Animal Rescue Team members note the cub looks very thin. The mountain lion was found under some debris in a backyard.
Wildlife officials used a tranquillizer dart to safety bring the mountain lion out of the backyard.
Fish and Wildlife said the animal will now be checked out by a veterinarian in Southern California.
