SANTA MARIA, Calif. -

Police said a 21-year-old Santa Maria man thought to be recovering from stab wounds actually fell through a window.

It happened early on New Year's Day.

Santa Maria police were called out to a stabbing just after 2:00 a.m. on the 500 block of West Creston.

Officer Gregorio Santiago said the man's injures ended up being from broken glass.

He was taken to Marian Medical Center where he is in stable condition.

It appears he was intoxicated.

No charges are being filed.
