Oxnard Shooting Leaves One Man Dead

OXNARD, Calif. -

The Oxnard Police Department is investigating its first murder of 2014. 

Two Oxnard men were shot at near their homes on the 2000 block of Mariposa St, just after 6:30 Monday night. 

One of the men died at the scene.  The second, an 18 year old man was rushed to the hospital where he underwent emergency surgery.  As of Tuesday night that man is in stable condition.

“At this time investigators don’t know what led to this incident or the motive behind it and they are attempting to establish what occurred,” said Miguel Lopez with the Oxnard Police Department.

Police say they are still looking for suspects.  Anyone with information regarding the shooting should call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.  The City of Oxnard offers a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of suspect(s) in homicide cases.
