PASO ROBLES, Calif. -

A Paso Robles High School teacher faces felony charges, accused of having sex with a 16-year-old female student.

Jeremy Monn, 30, was arrested by police after investigators learned of an ongoing sexual relationship with the underage student.  Her name has not been released.

The Paso Robles Joint Unified School District released a statement saying administrators were cooperating with law enforcement.  Monn was placed on administrative leave.  According to the release, he is prohibited from visiting school sites or other district facilities, and is not to be in contact with any students, parents, or staff members.  Monn was listed as teaching Agriculture Education on the high school's website.

Paso Robles police report the investigation began on Sunday June 1.  Monn was arrested on Tuesday.  The charge against him is felony unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor.  He was booked into the San Luis Obispo County jail.

The school district reported it was in constant communication with police after the investigation began, and pledged to continue cooperation.

While administrators believe this was an incident involving only one student, the school urged anyone with further information to contact Paso Robles police at (805) 237-6464.
