The first two months of winter were extremely dry up and down the coast with most locations seeing 5% or less of their normal rain totals.
According to the National Weather Service, total rainfall amounts for the months of December and January were the second driest on record in Oxnard as well as the Camarillo, Santa Barbara, Santa Maria, and Paso Robles airports.
In those two months, Santa Barbara, Paso Robles, Santa Maria, and Camarillo airports only received less then a fourth an inch of rain.
The National Weather Service in Oxnard rain totals were not much better. The two month rainfall combo totaled 0.29" of rain.
Rainfall totals for January alone should normally be between 2.75" to 3.50".
The driest December/January for these locations was back in 1975 to 1976.
