Students Celebrate Chinese New Year
Members of UCSB's Chinese Students and Scholars Association put on a show at Campbell Hall to ring in the Chinese New Year.
In the lunar calendar New Year's Day is Jan. 31. Students compare it to Christmas, calling it the biggest holiday in their homeland.
Traditionially, students would spend the holiday reconnecting with friends and relatives and eating during each visit.
About 800 people enjoyed the show at UCSB -- They put red decorations around the building to bring good luck.
Students said 2014 is the Year of the Horse in the 12-year Chinese zodiac.
