SANTA YNEZ, Calif. -

Santa Barbara County Sheriff Department released the following information:

On Wednesday Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated a stalking and death threats case.

The suspect in the case, 19-year-old Incio Elijah Gomez, sent his ex-girlfriend a text message picture of himself holding a handgun and making suicidal threats.

Fearing for Gomez, the ex-girlfriend telephoned him to check on his welfare. During the conversation, Gomez threatened to shoot and kill law enforcement officers, his ex-girlfriend, her family, and then himself.

Patrol deputies and detectives initiated an investigation to locate and arrest Gomez. On Thursday, Detectives found Gomez walking in the area of Highway 246 near the Chumash Casino and arrested him without incident.

Gomez was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail on charges of threats, stalking, violation of domestic violence restraining order and an active domestic violence warrant.

His bail is set at $150,000.
