SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. -

San Luis Obispo Office of Emergency Management released the following information:

There are no reports of damage due to the 4.3 magnitude earthquake at 11:42 a.m. on Thursday.

It was centered about 9 miles south/southwest of San Simeon.

A 2.8 magnitude quake followed nearby at 11:47 a.m. The earthquake was felt throughout the area; however public safety and related agencies received very few calls and no calls for service.

The National Tsunami Warning Center issued a Tsunami Information Statement stating there was no tsunami danger due to the earthquake.

The County Office of Emergency Services states this is a reminder that we do live in earthquake country and we should all be prepared for a damaging earthquake at any time. Information on this and other earthquakes can be found at earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes.
