Paula Broadwell. Former CIA Director David Petraeus eventually resigned after it was discovered in November 2012 that he had an affair with biographer Paula Broadwell.
Rielle Hunter. After Edwards hired Hunter to produce a series of documentaries on his 2008 campaign for President, the two began a romantic affair that continued until the National Enquirer revealed the couple's liaison at a Los Angeles hotel. Hunter later gave birth to a child, and Edwards admitted he was the father.
Christine Beatty. The former chief of staff to former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick exchanged roughly 1,400 text messages -- many of which were romantic -- while working together, exposing their inappropriate relationship. Marilyn Monroe. Though their affair was never officially confirmed, it is widely believed that the sex symbol had an affair President John F. Kennedy.

Sydney Leathers. Former New York Rep. Donna Rice. When Rice's affair with Gary Hart was exposed in 1987 via photographs of the pair on a yacht together, it ended Hart's second campaign for the Democratic Party nomination for President.
Lucy Mercer. Hired as a secretary by Eleanor Roosevelt, Mercer ended up having an affair with Roosevelt's husband, Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall. Camilla was having an affair with Britain's Prince Charles while he was married to Princess Diana. After the Princess perished in a tragic car accident, Camilla married Charles in 2005.
