Meryl Davis and Charlie White may have helped Team USA cross off ice dancing with their gold medal at the 2014 Olympics, but there are still 12 Olympic sports (13 if you count the newly added sport of rugby sevens) in which the U.S. is seeking its first-ever gold.

Newly added to the Olympics for the Rio Games is the sport of rugby sevens. So needless to say, the U.S. has also never won a gold medal in this sport either. (The American women finished in fifth place at the Rio Games on Monday, with the men beginning play on Tuesday.) On the other hand, they've dominated in golf, which is returning to the Olympics for the first time in 112 years. Golf was included at the 1900 and 1904 games, with the U.S. winning three of the four contested events in those two Olympics: the men's and women's events in Paris in 1900 and the men's team event in St. Louis in 1904.
Art programs have been seeing a drastic decline in funding across the country. However, the Orcutt Childrens Art Foundation is helping the city of Orcutt give its children and young adults a chance to create and learn.
