Canitez leads Westmont to final in GSAC Tournament

Tugce Canitez scored a game-high 27 points to lead Westmont to a 62-47 victory over San Diego Christian in a GSAC Tournament semifinal.


Trailing 26-22 at the half, Westmont College opened the second half by scoring the first 15 points and cruised to a 62-47 win in a GSAC Tournament semifinal game in women's basketball.

Warriors senior star Tugce Canitez scored a game-high 27 points in her final game in front of the home fans in Montecito. Kelsie Sampson added 10 points as Westmont improves to 25-3 on the year. The Warriors are now 15-0 this season against Golden State Athletic Conference opponents.

Westmont will try and defend their GSAC Tournament title on Tuesday when they play Vanguard in Irvine.
