Cardinals hold off Warriors in baseball

The Cardinals used a 3-run third inning and hung on to beat the rival Warriors in a non-league game.

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -

Bishop Diego led early and hung on late to beat Carpinteria 6-4 in a non-league baseball game in Santa Barbara. Jack Gregson pitched a complete-game to earn the win.

The Cardinals used a three-run third inning to lead 4-1 but had to survive a late rally by Carpinteria as they loaded the bases in the fifth and sixth innings and had two runners on in the final inning but could not overtake the Cardinals who improved to 8-5 on the year.
