The Lions of Providence Hall will play Rio Hondo Prep for a CIF Division 6 championship in girls high school basketball.

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -

It is not often that you get a second chance to win a CIF title. For many of the Providence Hall girls basketball players, they get another shot at history. The Lions will face Rio Hondo Prep for the CIF Division 6 championship on Saturday at 11:30 from Mater Dei High School.

Last year the Lions suffered a narrow loss to Orangewood Academy in the Division 6 final. Seniors Sydney Hedges, Lizzy Beebe, Lacey Gonzalez and the rest of the Lions are determined to complete the task this season.

Providence Hall of Santa Barbara is 18-5 this year and have won all three of their playoff games in lopsided fashion. The school opened it's doors in 2007 and they are still waiting for their first CIF title in any sport.
