The San Francisco 49ers have quarterback Colin Kaepernick under contract, but negotiations with coach Jim Harbaugh on an extension have stalled.

According to NBC Sports' Pro Football Talk, the 49ers made an offer to Harbaugh, but he has not responded to it.

Harbaugh reportedly wants to be paid the same as a coach who has won a Super Bowl. He has denied he is seeking to be the highest-paid coach in the NFL. He has guided the 49ers to a Super Bowl appearance and three straight NFC title games since taking over as coach in 2011.

Harbaugh is signed through the 2015 season. A previous effort last year to extend his contract failed. He could opt out early but has publicly insisted he will remain with the 49ers for the final two years of his deal.
