CIF Boys Basketball Roundup

Santa Barbara, Bishop Diego and Laguna Blanca all won but Cabrillo, Righetti, Arroyo Grande, Atascadero and Oxnard all lost.

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -

The season continues into the CIF semifinals for three Santa Barbara boys basketball teams.

The Santa Barbara Dons are now 25-2 after winning at Bishop Amat 62-42 in a CIF Division 3A quarterfinal contest in La Puente. Jack Baker scored 19 points with 15 rebounds as the Dons won for a 14th consecutive time. They play at Oak Park on Friday night.

Bishop Diego won at New Community Jewish in West Hills 54-46 in a CIF Division 5AA quarterfinal game. Grant Sexton scored 19 points as the Cardinals advanced to host top-seed Saddleback Valley Christian at a site to be determined.

Laguna Blanca closed out its 6A quarterfinal home game on a 15-2 run to beat L.A. Adventist 67-60 to advance to Friday's semifinal contest at #1 seed Trinity Classical Academy on Friday night. Stephen McCaffery led the Owls with 18 points.

Elsewhere Oak Park defeated Cabrillo of Lompoc 83-78, Oxnard lost to Edison 44-35 in a CIF 1A second round game. In 2A, Righetti lost to Sonora 67-48, while Arroyo Grande lost at Tustin 72-64. Atascadero fell at Servite 49-47 in a CIF Division 3AA quarterfinal game.
