Dons & Cougars Will Play in State Tournament

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -

Santa Barbara High School and Ventura have been awarded home games for round one of the State Tournament in girls basketball. Meanwhile the Dons boys basketball team got invited to the State Tournament and will start on the road.

The Dons girls team will host Shafter in division 3 and Ventura will be home to Hanford in division one. The games take place Wednesday night. Both the Dons and Cougars won CIF titles on Saturday and both play in the Channel League. Camarillo, who lost to Ventura in the championship game, will travel to play Fairfax in division one action. Santa Clara of Oxnard plays at View Park in Division 5.

The Santa Barbara boys team will play at Eagle Rock on Wednesday in division 3. The Dons were eliminated in the CIF semifinals by Oak Park of Agoura who went on to win the title in division 3A.
