DP wins second consecutive Channel League title in baseball

The Chargers won 8-2 at Santa Barbara to make it back-to-back Channel League championships for the first time in school history.

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -

It is one for the books. For the first time in school history, Dos Pueblos wins back-to-back Channel League titles in baseball. The Chargers dominated Santa Barbara 8-2 at Eddie Mathews Field to clinch the championship with a 10-1 league mark.

Gabe Speier allowed just two runs on four hits in six innings of work while striking out seven. He gave up just a bunt single through the first five innings.

He was backed with plenty of offense as Luke Coffey, Nolan Soto and Anthony Spiritosanto each drove in two runs. James Savage was 3-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.
