The baseball field at Santa Barbara Junior High was named Oliphant Field to pay tribute to longtime coach Bill Oliphant.

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -

For now on, Santa Barbara High School's frosh/soph baseball team will practice at Oliphant Field.

The Santa Barbara Unified School District honored teacher and coach Bill Oliphant for forty years of service by naming the baseball field after him at Santa Barbara Junior High School where the Dons lower level team practices.

Oliphant graduated Santa Barbara High School in 1964 where he played both basketball and baseball. He is a retired history teacher but he still helps out with the Dons baseball team.
