Josh Tedeschi pitched six-plus innings of two-hit shutout ball as Dos Pueblos beat Laguna Hills 3-0 in a first round CIF Division II playoff game.

GOLETA, Calif. -

Gabe Speier is the ace of the Dos Pueblos High School pitching staff but Josh Tedeschi is having a season that any star pitcher would take in a heartbeat. The junior lefty pitched six-plus innings of two-hit shutout ball as the Chargers beat Laguna Hills 3-0 in a first round CIF Division II playoff game in Goleta.

While Speier is expected to be a high draft pick next month, Tedeschi is now 10-1 on the year.

DP scored all the runs that they would need on a bad throw to first by Laguna Hills as Dustin Demeter and Nolan Soto scored to give the Chargers a 2-0 first inning lead. Anthony Spirtosanto added a run-scoring double in the fourth inning.

DP plays Cypress in Tuesday's second round.
