The Gauchos improve to 11-2 on the season with a 2-1 win over the Waves.

UC SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -

Andrew Calica delivered a two-out bases loaded single to left to plate Scott Quinlan in the ninth inning as the Gauchos defeated Pepperdine 2-1 to improve to 11-2 on the year.

UCSB, ranked 20th in the country by Collegiate Baseball, received five-plus solid innings from Andrew Vasquez who allowed just one run and struck out seven.

Joey Epperson continues his torrid start as he collected two more hits and is batting an even .500 on the year at 26-for-52. His third inning single drove in UCSB's first run.

The Gauchos host Wichita State on Friday at 3 p.m. to begin a three-game weekend series.
